"SHINE ON ME"

"Shine on Me"
"It’s a fleeting moment of inspiration.
You see something and it resonates in your artistic vision.
You look again and it’s gone.
But you remember the essence of it though.
It’s that essence that you hold onto.
The essence of a memory is the magic of a memory.
“ Shine on Me” is a reflection of this.
It is not a specific place but yet it is everywhere. The essence of our communal connection to the sea.
I am not interested in an accurate portrayal of any one place. I am interested in the pieces that were engrained into my artistic vision, the visual poetry that I saw, the memory of it.
The colours of the sky and clouds. The light on the sea, the distant hills and cliffs, the shoreline and the stages, and boats.
I guess it’s an artistic exploration of what our memories hold onto.
A memory being a reflection of our past experience."
